"We Are What We Eat": Tucson Weekly's Pick of the Week Tucson Weekly, 4/24/08 Read about an innovative dance performance about food produced by NEW ARTiculations Dance Theatre. Two City High School City Works classes were involved in the early creative process of creating the dance. Students and teachers in the Culinary Arts and Community Garden classes participated in workshops with the dancers and generated ideas and movements that the dancers wove into the final performance. Click here to watch a KUAT TV segment featuring City High School Arizona Illustrated, KUAT TV, 2/27/08 Poet Force Jim Nintzel, Tucson Weekly, 2/14/08 As part of his weekly column, Nintzel commented on the nonviolent and powerful actions that a group of teen girls, including City High students, conducted in response to anti-immigrant hate speech that occurs at Jacome Plaza regularly. The girls, all of whom are involved in the Kore Press Grrrls Literary Activism Project, distributed love poem and silkscreened t-shirts as part of their counter-protest. Hundreds Turn Out to Honor King in 25th Annual March Tucson Citizen, 1/22/08 City High School had a team of marchers approximately 30 strong in Monday's event. Students, staff, and parents walked together from the U of A to Reid Park to honor Dr. King's legacy. City High School recently received a "MLK Day of Service" grant to focus on service projectsrelated to King's teachings of nonviolence throughout 2008; participation in the Tucson walk was our kick-off activity.
