VOICES Extended Day Programming Begins

The VOICES extended day program kicked off this week with a variety of academic support and enrichment opportunities available for all students.  Funded by our 21st Century Learning Center grant and your tax credit donations, these classes, workshops and clubs enable students to learn new skills, meet other students, as well as work with staff and community partners, including the BitBuckets Robotics Team and Las Milpitas de Cottonwood community farm.

Attendees with 30 days or more can also earn one day of off-campus lunch privilege, including before school workouts at the YMCA, 7:30-8:45, and staff office hours, 8:30-8:55 daily.  In addition, workshop opportunities come up throughout the year from Sonoran Glass School, ZUZI Dance Theatre, Ironwood Tree Experience, among other partners.  Students should check their school gmail accounts regularly for notifications and calls for participation in these workshops.

Parents can also get involved and support the Community Learning Center by attending our regular Family Nights, every Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 at CHS.  Staff hosts use these events to showcase student projects, performances and informational meetings on a variety of topics.  This week KC is hosting a parent meeting on the upcoming college tour overnight trip for juniors.  Check the school calendar for future Family Night events.
