AzMERIT Testing Continues in April

The next phase of AzMERIT continues this week with Reading tests for all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. AzMERIT Math tests will be administered next week. The online calendar located on the school website has all testing days noted.

AzMERIT, the statewide test required of all public schools, is an important indicator of student performance on state standards for reading, writing and math. The tests for high school students are designed as end-of-course tests. The best way for students to prepare for the tests is to be actively engaged in their humanities, English, and math classes throughout the year.

Student scores on AzMERIT are one important indicator of student achievement. City High School also values other assessments, such as performances, exhibitions, and projects to provide a complete picture of what a student knows. This week, for example, City High School students will be showcasing their learning to a public audience at the Pennington Street Showcase on April 21.
