Using Project-Based Learning to Tackle Screen Time

JoAnn Groh, principal of Paulo Friere Freedom School Downtown, one of CITY Center for Collaborative Learning‘s middle schools, wrote about how her students used project-based learning to address issues surrounding screen time and social media use for the Buck Institute of Education‘s blog. The students did research to then offer suggestions to parents about how to help their students navigate the world of smartphones and digital technology. The students’ suggestions apply to high schoolers as well; we here at City High are also dedicated to helping our students become responsible social media users.
