Amy Rude received her BA in English Communication from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and her Masters of Education and Cultural Studies from Prescott College. She is an expert in designing Place-Based curriculum, and she integrates Tucson’s rich history, culture, and diversity into her classroom.
Amy has taught at CHS since 2005. She has also taught English in Eritrea, East Africa, helped transitioning refugees learn English and life skills in Portland, Oregon, and has instructed adults at Pima Community College and El Rio Learning Center in Tucson. Her teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in a student centered, constructivist approach. She is a 4th generation Westerner and loves to study, read about, and teach American Western history.
Amy is highly qualified by federal standards and the State of Arizona in the areas of English/language arts and geography.
