Art Show and Print Sale

Join us Thursday, December 14th for the City High School Art Show and Print Sale. Come between 5:30-7:00PM to purchase original artwork and printed notecards by our talented City High School art students. Snacks will be provided. Afterwards, take a nice short walk over to the Cabaret and catch opening night of The Handmaid’s Tale!

Tickets are available to City High School Drama’s adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s classic dystopian novel, The Handmaid’s Tale, December 15, & 16 at the Cabaret Theatre at the Temple of Music & Art. Thursday evening is sold out!

Get your tickets from the CHS front desk, order from any drama student, or reserve tickets by emailing

Performances are at 7:30pm each night, with an additional matinee at 2pm on Saturday, 12/16. Seating is limited to 75 people per show, so act now to secure your seat(s).

Tickets are $5 for staff, parents, & community members, and are FREE for City High & PFFS students (middle school students must be accompanied by an adult).

8th Annual VOICES After School Showcase Thursday, Nov. 30

Join us for the 8th Annual VOICES After School Showcase at Family Night this Thursday, Nov. 30, from 5:30-7pm. Enjoy delicious treats from our culinary class and performances from student musicians! Learn about our farm program, and watch our team of muralists at work. Get your tickets to our fall drama production of The Handmaid’s Tale.

Thanksgiving Break November 23rd-24th

Reminder to all students and parents that this year’s school calendar allows for a 4-day weekend for Thanksgiving Break. City High School will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 23-24.

No school on 11/10, Veteran’s Day Observed

City High School will be closed Friday, November 10th in observance of Veteran’s Day. We will return to school Monday, November 13th.

4th Annual Chili Cook Off Nov. 9th

The 4th Annual Chili Cook Off will be Thursday, November 9th at 5:30.

To participate in the event, come to eat the chili or make chili to eat. Chilis will be judged in four categories: best meat, best veggie, best overall, and people’s choice. The winners will each walk away with a medal and acknowledgement as a Chili Champion, so make sure to vote for your favorite!

Tickets are $5 for all-you-can (or want to) eat chili with any one drink, contestants eat free! All proceeds support Student Voice Committee.

To join the contest, fill out the entry form on our City High Facebook Event and return it by Monday, November 6th to the front desk.

City High School Fall Break

City High School will be on Fall Break starting this Friday, October 6th until Friday, October 13th. We will return on Monday, October 16th. Q1 progress reports will be sent home during this break.

Back-To-School Night is Thursday, August 24

Parents and guardians are encouraged to join us for our annual Back-to-School Night on Thursday, August 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. This annual event is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and find out more about course expectations.  We will highlight:

  • School mission and goals
  • Ways the parents can get involved at school
  • How to support your child’s learning at home
  • Teacher and support staff qualifications*
  • Academic support and enrichment programs available to students
  • Title 1 funding priorities

Back-to-School Night is primarily designed for adult family members; students ma accompany their family members but are not expected to participate.
