Pennington Street Block Party
Celebrate youth. Celebrate community. Join in the fun at the 4th annual Pennington Street Block Party on Friday, April 20 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
The PENNINGTON STREET BLOCK PARTY: a family-friendly event in conjunction with a food-truck round up, in the heart of Downtown Tucson celebrating what young people do to make our community a better place. Fun for all ages! Musical performances and teaching demos, interactive booths, one-act plays, art installations and exhibits, carnival games, and more. An annual event showcasing youth creativity, learning, and service, as part of Global Youth Service Days

- Performances and workshops by Capoeira De Ouro, Tucson Youth Poetry Slam, Flight School Acrobatics, Stories That Soar, and more;
- Live music from youth bands
- Jumping castle and mathematical carnival games for children;
- Art installations including a variety of media: video, photography, and an on-site mural creation with Tucson Arts Brigade
- Bike tune-up and bike craft area hosted by BICAS;
- Earth Day Alley including hands-on learning about urban gardening, cooking, & water usage;
- On-site interviews for Your Family History project.
- Interactive booths by numerous community organizations – The Drawing Studio, Ironwood Tree Experience, and Non-Violence Legacy Project are just a few highlights.
GET INVOLVED! Creating a true community event takes the whole community. We are seeking performers, food vendors, community booths, and volunteers.
