Overview
City High
School opened in Tucson, Arizona in September 2004. Founded by the
nonprofit organization Tucson Small School Project and grounded
in the philosophy of the Coalition of Essential Schools, City High
School is a small and personalized learning environment in which
students and teachers know one another well. Highly skilled teachers
challenge and engage all students through an innovative curriculum
that connects academic studies to real-world issues and the rich
resources of the local community. At City High School, students
develop the confidence and knowledge to think deeply, solve complex
problems, and achieve high academic standards.
Current Openings
City High School seeks creative and committed staff members to further develop its educational program as the school enters its fifth year. Current openings for the 2008-2009 school year include: Educational Assitant for Special Education (full time) and School Counselor (half time).
City High School seeks to have an adult staff that reflects the diversity of its student population; minority candidates are encouraged to apply. For more information, call 623-7223 x203.
Process
As of June 20, all positions are filled for the 2008-2009 school year.
Please submit a completed
application form, a resume, two letters of recommendation, and typed
written responses (not to exceed one page total) to the following
two questions:
What have you done in your classroom to increase student achievement?
Describe a significant challenge in your classroom or school
community that you faced and how you helped to solve it.
