Transportation & Meals

Many students and staff bike to school.

TRANSPORTATION

The school’s downtown location creates multiple options for students to get to school.

Drop-Off / Pick-Up
The school’s Drop-Off Zone includes 4 parking spots directly in front of the school and 2 across the street (in front of Cafe 54). Please remember to turn on your flashing ‘hazard lights’ if you leave your car in one of the drop-off spots.

By Bus
Our campus is 1 block from Sun Tran’s downtown bus depot, the Ronstadt Transit Center, and many students from all sides of town use Sun Tran to get to and from school. To learn more about bus routes, monthly passes, and to find if your family qualifies for a reduced bus fare, visit the Sun Tran website. We also use SunTran for many in-town field trips.

By Bike
There is ample bicycle parking for students and staff who commute to school on bike.

Parking
There are many metered parking spots close to City High School, along Pennington St. and Scott Ave. Metered spots are free before 8:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends. There are various parking lots and garages with monthly rates. Please see the ParkWise website for more information.

MEAL PROGRAM

City High School contracts with a local caterer to have hot breakfast and lunch provided daily for students who pre-pay and for those who qualify for free or reduced lunch. To learn more about lunch options and/or to apply for free or reduced lunch, please contact Business Director Yash Shah. A vegetarian option is available.

Students are also welcome to bring their own lunch from home. Microwaves, refrigerators, and snack and drink machines are available. Students eat in designated areas on the ground floor, including outside in the alley. Juniors and seniors can go off campus for lunch two days per week with parent permission. Occasionally advisory groups go on lunch outings together.
