Summer Activities Coming to a Close

The first session of Summer Bridge 2012 has been a ton of fun! Incoming 9th grade students met instructors Keith Quillen, Megan Valanidas, and AmeriCorps member Karyn Light. Students played with super fun technology, got a refresher in Math and English, and met a few of the VOICES in the CITY! instructors who lead super fun workshops throughout the school year, including Mural Making with Johanna Martinez, Darkroom Photography with Tucson Community Darkroom, Culinary Arts with Chris Alvarez, Urban Farming with Megan Valanidas, and School Culture with Principal Jeff Hartman and Counselor Erica Saunders. We are looking forward to session two of Summer Bridge 2012 that runs next week – July 30 – August 3!

Today is the final day of VOICES in the CITY! summer workshops! The workshops included our video game design workshop ‘Portal 2 – Lab Rats’, three different sessions of Culinary Arts with Chris Alvarez, Sketching 101 with Tucson artist Gavin Troy, and Mural Making with Johanna Martinez. Check out the photos!
