Two Great Events for This Week’s Family Night

This week’s Wednesday Family Night event features two great celebrations that you won’t want to miss!

First, during a gallery walk led by Division II Math Teacher K.C. Englemann’s senior College Algebra students who will showcase the kites they created in collaboration with a local artist, TC Tolbert. The kites, made for the All Souls Procession in dedication to the memory of the many transgengered people who were killed during the last year because of their sexual orientation.  TC has spent time in the classroom to lead discussions on this topic, and your students have created some amazing kites while studying a segment on right triangles. During the gallery walk, students will explain their project and the design of their kite, as well as answer any other questions that arise.  Please join us for this amazing display of creativity and thoughtfulness.

Secondly, a group of students that traveled last summer to Costa Rica, as part of a joint international studies project between City High School and the Ironwood Tree Experience, will share stories and pictures from their trip to abroad. This group spent two years raising money and planning the trip. The students and trip leaders will thank their families and supporters, celebrate with each other one last time, and share their experiences with a wider community audience. Students who are interested in participating in a future trip are specifically encouraged to attend.
