VOICES Received Additional Grant Funding, Adding Extended-Day Programming

Our VOICES Extended Day programming received an increase in funding from the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant last week and

we’re excited to announce additional after school programming! As always, all programs are free, and open to all students on a drop-in basis, no registration or enrollment necessary.

Starting this week we’ll be offering a Photo & Video Arts class, and extending¬†our Desert Youth Gardening school-day elective after school.
Taught by CHS alum, and recent art school graduate, Grace King Palmer, Photo & Video Arts will be focusing on a variety of photo techniques,aswell as filmmaking. The class will meet in room 205 (art studio) on Mondays 3:15-5:15, and Wednesdays 1-3pm, beginning on 11/6.
 
The Desert Youth Gardening class (aka DYG Afterschool) is led by Jennifer Knochel, and will also be starting up 11/6, meeting Tuesdays, 3-4:30, & Wednesdays, 1:30-3pm. They will work on sustainability projects in the alley and around the school. You don’t need to be enrolled in the DYG elective to participate!
