Free Virtual Parent & Educator Workshop Feb. 17

Flyer for Feb. 17 Parent Workshop

The challenges and trauma living through the pandemic have affected all of us, but sometimes it falls especially hard on children and families. Our schools are working hard to meet the academic and social emotional needs of our students, but we know that our families’ needs are greater than what we can do during a school day.

Since part of our mission is to build community and partnerships with families we have asked Emily McCrea of Rebel Shift Childhood to host a Zoom meeting on Thursday, February 17 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. to discuss some of these issues.

Emily works with parents, educators and organizations offering coaching and consulting around trauma, stress and building healthy relationships and communication. As the founder and former director of the Downtown Community School and a Paulo Freire parent, she is well acquainted with progressive educational practices.

In this meeting, Emily will share some research/experience that she has around stress and stress management and you will have the opportunity to share with us some of the challenges, concerns, and needs you might be facing which in turn will help us to think about possible programs and resources we might offer in the future to support our parents and families.

We hope you join us!
